What We Do
At NZUK, our business is about identifying and evaluating potential sites across the UK for wind farm development. We assess a wide range of sites and then focus on a select few that show the most promise for development.
Our goal in this Feasibility phase is to create Site Packages. Each Site Package includes:
- Technical and logistical assessments,
- Secured contractual land rights (usually through exclusivity agreements with landowners), and
- An electricity distribution network connection offer.
How We Work with Landowners
We don’t own the land where the wind farms will be developed. Instead, we secure the rights to develop wind energy on the land through agreements with the landowners. These agreements give us the exclusive rights to proceed with further site development.
Collaboration in Renewable Energy Development
NZUK is actively pursuing partnerships across the UK through Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) to advance wind farm projects. Our collaborators manage a diverse range of site packages, with several sites having undergone technical and legal assessments, while others are in the process of securing final exclusivity agreements with landowners.
What Happens to the Site Packages
Our approach involves two paths for these Site Packages:
- NZUK or its subsidiaries may develop some of these sites into wind farms, generating long-term revenue and supporting our growth.
- We sell Site Packages to third-party developers who can complete the wind farm projects. The sales of these packages provide revenue based on the potential electricity generation capacity of each site, rather than the cost invested in developing the package.
The proceeds from selling Site Packages will fund:
- Further planning and development of the sites we retain, and
- The discovery and evaluation of new sites.
This model allows us to maximize our project pipeline while managing risk and securing revenue.
As we advance, our goal is to expand our portfolio of wind farms and make a tangible impact in the renewable energy landscape of the UK and beyond.
Our Team
We’re a dynamic team of four with a shared passion for renewable energy and a wealth of individual experience in wind technology, the consenting and EIA processes, legal and commercial aspects, and effective communications. Although we’re new as a team, our diverse backgrounds empower us to tackle every stage of developing and managing wind farm infrastructure. From planning and securing funding to site assessment and landowner negotiations, we know what it takes to get projects off the ground.
As we move through the various phases—consenting and EIA management, designing and planning construction, and ultimately operating completed wind farms—our collective expertise will ensure that we not only meet regulatory requirements but also create sustainable and efficient projects. We’re excited to harness our skills and collaborative spirit to lead the way in the wind energy sector, driving progress for a greener future.
