Daybreak
Daybreak is a cooperative board game about climate action. Designed by Matt Leacock and Matteo Menapace, it lets 1–4 players take the roles of world powers and work together to reach net-zero emissions (“Drawdown”) before global temperature rises too far or communities fall into crisis.
The game presents an optimistic, practical view of the near future — deploying real-world technologies, policies and resilience measures. It won the Kennerspiel des Jahres and a Games for Change award.

At NZ Renewables UK we develop onshore wind projects that put people and the planet first. Daybreak captures the same spirit: working together across borders to cut emissions while protecting communities. It is a clear, engaging way to explore the choices involved in the energy transition.
The digital version on Board Game Arena is free, requires only a browser, and handles the bookkeeping so you can focus on the decisions. No download needed.
